Semi-Structured Interviews
Schedule Your Interview
Thank you for your interest in participating in the Afro-Caribbean Student Stories interview series. This is a key part of the study exploring how Afro-Caribbean students experience and navigate antiblackness and belonging in higher education.
What to Expect. The interview is a one-on-one, confidential conversation (via Zoom or in person) that lasts about 60–90 minutes. It is semi-structured, meaning you’ll be asked open-ended questions about your background, college experience, identity, and any challenges or moments of support you’ve encountered, and in two phases.
You are welcome to share as much or as little as you’d like—you can skip any question or pause at any time. Our approach is trauma-informed and affirming: you are the expert on your own experience, and your voice matters deeply.
Who Can Participate. Those who:
Identify as Afro-Caribbean (including U.S.-born, foreign-born, first-gen, multiracial, etc.)
Are currently enrolled in a U.S. college or university (undergraduate or graduate)
Interview Format Options:
Zoom (video or audio only)
In-person (if geographically feasible)
Phone (by request)
